Meet Janette

Janette Carmichael is a self taught artist, residing in Gold Bridge, British Columbia. She's always had a strong love for animals and has built a connection to the local wildlife that inspires her work. Her realistic style is achieved using coloured pencils and pastels, creating a high level of detail to make the subject feel as though it could jump off the page.

All of Janette's drawings are based off photographs she has taken from her own wildlife encounters, bringing an element of emotion into the creation process. She funnels those experiences into her artwork in hopes of giving the viewer a greater appreciation for the subject, and for wildlife as a whole. From birds to grizzly bears, every animal deserves its time in the spotlight.
